​I am fortunate, my life is filled with music, friends, challenges… The ups and downs of life that make me appreciate the pure and simple things.

As a full-time musician I find it incredibly valuable to have other interests to help balance out my career. One of my passions is gardening, growing things, seeing new life happen right before my eyes in response to the love and care you  give.

Much like life !

My childhood gardening experiences were less than inspirational, generally trimming the neighbors ivy for $.50 or maybe $1 (as I got older) didn’t necessarily give me the appreciation for this miracle of nature I seem to now cherish.

​Yet at some point something clicked and I saw plants growing, providing food, oxygen, soil stability and adding beauty to the world around us. 

I love the sense of community gardening gives me, sharing and receiving food between neighbors, the conversations it brings up and the joy we all experience in tasting a homegrown tomato.

This has been a “lazy year” for me, currently I’m growing cherry tomatoes, passion fruit, Kale, basil, cilantro, rosemary bit I will be planting more this week as the Southern California climate lends itself to year around growing. Lucky us !

Thank you for letting me share my passion, just like music it is a lifelong pursuit. The true beauty lies in the mystery, never knowing exactly how something will grow, or how it will taste. There are no guarantees except that you will learn with your experiences and your heart will always be fulfilled.

The support and enthusiasm we received from the audience as well as the judges was incredible. This choir has become a huge part of my life, and I am so proud of my wife Steph Johnson for creating it.
...And we got the Golden Buzzer!
